The idea of taking criticism from someone we love is one we all know and love. We all know that it takes courage to put up with such criticism, but sometimes we can be too stubborn to accept it. We sometimes get so caught up in the idea that we are right and others are wrong that we refuse to listen to anyone else. Unfortunately, this is a losing proposition.

When you get caught up in your own defense, you stop listening to others in order to win the argument. If you want to win in life, you must be willing to take the criticism of others when they offer it out of love. This can be an uncomfortable thing to do, but when you learn that people truly care about your happiness and well-being, you are more likely to take their advice instead of ignoring it.
